so when's full boost w/ the te-44? that's got to be a fun turbo on the street. my t61 dyno'd at 310rwhp at about 10psi but i had a nasty boost leak that wouldn't allow me to turn it up. we've since found the leak and it's at 18psi right now but no hp figures yet. it does take a little time to build boost.

With all the boosting and plans to race, I thought a vented carbon fiber hood would be helpful. What do you fellow ClubLexus'ers think; keep this hood unpainted, or paint to match color of car?

..just finished Version 1 of the Lexus SC300 na-t style intercooler piping. It's two solid pipes (1 for hot and 1 cold side), so no more couplers will blow off! . There is plenty of room for a straight 4inch Intake pipe for the turbo too :
One thing I've noticed is the driveability is more consistent and dare I say "better" with this new hard piping vs. the old "pieced-together-piping-with-several-couplers-and-akward-bends" Also, I noticed the transitioning into boost is smoother and feels faster. I'm guessing the elimination of all those bending angles and wiggling pieced-together-piping piping setup made all the difference. I'll know more after I re-dyno at high-boost and compare some data-logs...

Nice! How hard is it going to be to wiggle those pipes into place if it's one big piece for each side?
I still love your intercooler idea, it's perfect for people who aren't going front facing anytime soon!

If you do buy this same Seibon Carbon fiber hood, be aware that it is easy to crack (because it's noticeably flimsy) when trying to push down and lock into the stock front sc300 hood latch. I just saw a small spider crack in mine recently...perhaps there is a way to coat the hood so it's more rigid and less prone to stress cracks like this?

Perhaps it'd be possible to have some extra coats of clear on it?
I had a vented (Lancer Evo style) hood on one of my other cars, from VIS, and it held up extremely well at the front latch. I've never dealt with Seibon stuff to know how much more or less stiff the VIS ones are by comparison.
