Updating a few things on the car to prep for high boost so I took some extra pics:

The following graphs are with 9:1 2jz-ge compression, besides an upgraded headgasket and arp headstuds, it's a completely stock 2jz-ge engine. This TE-44 turbo was not bought from DaveH either, so it might be slightly different spec'd than the ones he gets...i'm thinking mine was possibly smaller?

Something interesting I noticed was the turbo spooled up ~400rpms later with the thicker supra TT headgasket. Fwiw, the turbo can spool faster than shown in these graphs, but the Greddy Profec B boost controller was set to spool the turbo later since my rev limit is raised.

The spool with supra TT headgasket is still very good, but the TE-44 is much better suited for a stock compression 2jz-ge engine where you don't have to boost so much to make the same power as seen on these graphs. At the higher boost levels, it begins to show signs of the "hot air blower" since it's such a small compressor turbo with is efficiency maxing out at these boost levels.

Also, this is on a manual transmission car (w/ lsd), so you dont get the benefit of that fast torque converter spool up that results in cooler air charge effect. So, my findings tell me either use this TE-44 on an automatic transmission setup AND/OR on a stock unopened 2JZ-GE engine (it's extremely fun with amazing powerband on stock compression 2jz-ge).

110 octane unleaded race gas is used and this is with AEM EMS pro-tuned by Justin Nenni of www.TuningConcepts.com.

16psi

21psi

The graph is jittery because of the intercooler pipes blowing off several times as well as vacuum hoses popping off and loosening. After I fixed those issues and did an oil change, the car ran much smoother and felt more powerful. I want more power on pump gas with the lower engine compression, so I've sold the te-44 with plans for a bigger turbo .

Right on! I plan on going the TT headgasket route as well with my PT67.

DBB with a .63 A/R? That thing should spool like an SRT-4

Good, because I still need to revenge my loss to a SRT4 when I was running 7psi on stock compression . The faster spool, the better

dejacky, how's it going man?

Are you getting a boost spike or something there? Your Torque falls off hard and kills the power in the midrange, and then it levels off.

What I have noticed is after 21psi, I've been getting unstable boost, i.e. it keeps jumping around and fluctuating between ~22 and 27psi with boost controller set to maximum. The dip in the graph seems like a characteristic of the 2jz-ge stock head air-flow on this smaller turbo setup, not sure yet though . I need to do a proper vacuum leak test to confirm I'm not getting any funky boost leaks anywhere.
I'm trying to sell off the rest of my other parts to help with the larger turbo upgrade and development costs for JackyPerformance products, so that's where I'm at these days.

what size is the TT HG? 1.6?

just curious what made you chose that opposed to a 1.3 or the 2.5 or something?

www.clubna-t.com has a great calculator link that tells you resulting engine compression from specific thickness headgaskets. The supra TT headgasket resulted in 9:1 engine compression for me, so that is why I chose it. I wasn't satisfied with the off-boost response of 2jz-ge na-t setups that had compression lower than 9:1. If you get a 2mm headgasket, your compression is like a 2JZ-GTE car, ala 8.5:1. So, if your concern is max boosted power on the street with pump fuel, you will be able to run more timing by dropping your compression to 8.5:1 (or lower) instead of 9:1.

dropped the clutch to see what the engagement problem was..this is what I found:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_l1Eh1d0Ck

With the car in gear and clutch pedal fully pressed, it would start moving when the rpm's were revved to 4,000 and beyond.

How did you fix the problem with bolting in the speedo clip?
the last pic showed the holes not lining up....

I see a comment about "extended speedometer and reverse-light sensor wires"
but not sure how it will clip on just because the wires are extended...

thanks
