So which one would you need if you had a 1JZ on a w58 with an auto ecu? HKS SLD Type 2?

All JDM ECU's will do that, they are all speed governed to 180km/h... yes that includes all the hi-po cars including all GTR's, WRX STi's, I think the Supra TRD 3000GT was as well from memory and the Chaser TRD version as well.

Your best bet would be to go with a standalone ECU system, but if not get an A'PEXi RSM or something similar...

or apexi rev/speed meter. also can record 0-60, etc times
