It's here!!
After many, many weeks and thinking it was going to be here at the end of August it's here with me!
The rig pulled in here tonight, 9/15, around 830pm...throughout the day I was getting updates from her...yes her - kinda caught me by surprise - the driver of the 53' rig with 70" sleeper cab was a 5' 8" woman in her late 30's or VERY early 40 & thin. The late arrival was due to N NJ traffic and well, the huge accident and closure of the turnpike.
Even thought it took 6 weeks from San Fran to S NJ...I'd still recommend Reliable Carriers. The car was mint and the rig was spotless in / out - fully enclosed. Just make sure they're not in a 'busy' season...
On to the car!!!
I was worried buying sight / unseen - but the car is in great shape and the selling was 100% accurate on his description...now if I could only figure out how to get the damn fancy Kenwood CD player to open up (damn security plate won't fold down!!)
The interior is great, brand new leather...my *** couldn't be happier & a/c blows cold. I was worried about the twin disc clutch, but it's super easy to engage and drive.
Idle is great and its nice and quite inside, until I really lay into it and then you can hear the HKS exhaust
I was driving it around wondering...WTF is that whooshhstt sound...I'm only at ~2500-3000rpm?? Well, it's been about 5 years since I've driven a GTE powered car with stock twins still on it!! Boost at that low rpms was a nice and welcomed surprise
Pics coming Friday evening!!!!
PS - sc.fred, wheels are 18's: Volk GT-C's 18X9 +42 18X10 Face 2 +37
Thanks,
Jay
