Unhappy I think I need a new oil pan

I changed my oil for the first time today (got the car a couple months ago) and when I was putting the drain plug back in, it wouldn't tighten. It would get a little tight and then reset... seems like the threads in the drain are stripped. I tried a new plug but it didnt help. Now my oil drips out of the drain hole about once every few minutes. It's weird how it wasn't leaking before the I changed the oil, maybe it had sealed itself somehow.

Anyone know how much an oil pan would run and what kind of labor is involved? I'm not sure if I'm capable of changing it out myself.

go to sears pick up a tap set and plug it with a slightly bigger hole. Also look for cracks in the oil pan itself. If it's cracked then you might have to replace it. If not save yourself some hassle and lots of dough.

good luck

had the same proble with my first 93... just taped it out and went with a larger plug.

have the same problem with the current 93..... gonna get a kit with a new sleve. have to tap it, put in the sleve with some lock tight, and use a new plug from the dealer. the kit is about $40.

What do you do with the original leaking plug?
