Does a radiator cap do much besides keep the pressurized fluids and gases from escaping?

well, it's better to have one that is pressurized. I have a generic one right now and fluid leaks out of it.

From what I understand the aftermarket ones tend to hold up to higher pressures. And usually the harder you run your car the higher the pressure goes. And obviously a radiator helps to keep the engine heat down. So in turn the radiator cap hold more pressure allowing the car to run at higher temps and letting you drive your car a little harder and a little faster.

BTW, a radiator cap does not come with the Koyo, so you will need to add about $20-$30 cost to that radiator.
