2jz-ge engine..........
Ok ive been looking around for awhile now and i haven't been able to find anything. I want to buy a used 2jz-ge engine to just swap into my 93 sc300 since it has a dead cylinder with 205k miles on it. I dont know if this is the right section for this, if its not then can a moderator move this? Ok back to the subject, alotta guys are talkin about getting em for like 300 or 400 bucks, but where? I need somethin cheap but Im not findin these 300 dollar 2jz-ge's anywhere.. Thanks for any help!

if the price was right, i'd almost put my car down for the year and sell you mine, lol. but not for 300 bucks, haha. thats like, labor right there of pulling the damn thing. i've seen the GE's goin for around 1500-2000 on ebay before. i'm sure you can find em a lil cheaper, but a full motor for 300? i doubt it. maybe, a short block or something, but not for a total swap. possibly without trans and ecu and stuff, but i dunno. unless there is a place that i haven't heard of sellin em cheap. but then i say, if they have the GEs that cheap, how much are they lookin to get for GTE's.

perhapse a new ge would go for that much, but there are used ones selling for less than $500. check the classifies here, and on supraforums. good luck.

VJ let me know when you get that and all the details, i really need a new motor, especially with all these gas prices, i get like 10 mpg with the dead cylinder. Also does anyone know how hard it would be to swap in another ge? Im at college right now and i was thinking about doing it myself, but i dont know if it is too much of a job. thanks

one thing... you can get a 1JZ cheaper than $1200.
another thing... the motor should go in with ease. it only takes a few days for a full 1J swap, so you should hav eno problems as long as you know what your doing and you have some friends to help. good luck.

I pulled my 2jz-ge for the 2jz-gte and listed it on SupraForums. It was 94k miles in excellent shape. $600 + shipping. It now lives on in an N/A MKIV Supra in AZ and the guy is extremely happy with it.
I think he got a good deal on the motor and I was ok with that price, knowing that there were some lessor price engines out there, though I think the history on them is quite sketchy.
btw, 1jz swap is going to utimately cost you quite a bit more than you think, my $0.02 if my experience in a gte swap is any indication.

well in all honesty if i had someone to buy my ge i would probably be able to do my 1jz swap. if i sold it, it would be engine and ecu...id be keeping my tranny. its in a 97 with about 115k on it. if you are interested i might be able to work something out so that once i get the 1jz i could sell you the ge.
