Hello,

I am a new member and was wondering what the best modifications were for the 92' SC400. If you have any insight I would appreciate this. Performance specs would be awesome as well as the gain in HP and torque. Thank you very much in advance.

My SC400 is stock. I want to do something with it. I am interested in anything that boosts performance. Supercharger, air intake, exhaust, anything!

If I can not find anything good I might buy a Supra and build a completely body for it. This mightbe expensive but it sounds fun too.

These are the mods that are currently available:

Torque converter: I have yet to do this (on my list for next year w/ body kit) but it improves the performance of your 0-60 (0.4 to 0.6 sec) and 1/4 (0.9 -or so i've heard) mile times. No change in hp or torque
cost: bout 1200 w/ installation

Air Intake: Good for several extra hp (maf adapter + cone filter)
cost: 60$

Air Intake + Heat Shield: a couple of extra hp
cost: roughly 75$, kinda hard to find

Exhaust: Greddy, Borla, etc. I'm planning on the Dynomax UltraFlows mufflers, not a full exhaust system.

NOS: (I'm really sketchy on price for this) 600$ for the setup, triple digit $$$ for installation. SC400 should safely be able to handle a 75 shot stock.

For straight line performance. These are cheap mods that give good gains.

Torque Converter, BFI, 4th Solenoid ECU mod, Shim the Auto tranny, Piggyback (s-afc, unichip etc.)

Nitrous Setup (the SC can handle a 150 wet shot on the stock block probably more. The stock ignition curve doesn't even warrant timing retard up to 150 shot because the car runs really rich from factory. Personally I would pull a few degrees of timing when shooting that much nitrous though).

Supercharger Setup. Vortech Supercharger setup from Lextreme is probably the cheapest route to having a supercharged high power 1uz.

Have fun
