I'm hoping this list will complement what vipsoarer has posted. it's a list I've been compiling of parts needed to do this swap. I'm like 95% sure it's complete but not certain. I put it together by browsing here and talking to a guy named dr. jonez on SF. feel free to add to this list...

-R154 trans
-J series engine to R154 bellhousing
-soarer transmission mount
-soarer/custom driveshaft
-1J supra/soarer engine->transmission mounting brackets
-1J supra/soarer front inspection cover
-1J supra/soarer side inspection covers
-1J supra/soarer flywheel
-1J supra/soarer pilot bearing
-R154 clutch disc
-R154 pressure plate
-R154 release setup- release hub, bearing, snap rings, clutch fork
-R154 clutch slave cylinder and line

Stonger shift forks? The ones on the MKIII seem to handle 600hp+ just fine?

I mentioned it as being one of the weak points of the transmission. they handle the power well but everything else in the transmission seems to be built to a higher standard than the shift forks. i think it would be a great piece for any one of the big supra part support stores to build and carry.

Like I said, if you can get a complete package together, I would definately get in line as a buyer. Much cheaper than doing a V160 swap, any idea how much a complete bolt on package with all needed parts would cost?
Thanks again for advancing the platform!

Right now pricing is up in the air. Im looking for a quality and decently priced supplier of r154's to do this, first. After that some parts are dependent on aftermarket or not like the clutch and flywheel along with shifters etc. Ill keep everyone posted as I form up the relations that I will need to start something like this. Id like to be able to have a template and measurements for a driveshaft also so that would be out of the way also. thanks for the interest.

count me in on the buy, sounds like a great idea at a fraction of the cost to the v160 for those of us that are boosted

vipsparer:
I am in progress make sc400 to manual (and single turbo too)
your tips how fabricate that shifter extension is simple and awesome. Thanks a lot!!!

you are help me much in my project, now I can use mk3 r154 that cost $150-$200 there (I live in Poland) and is very common, not soarer2.5 tt tranny or its longer shifter (nobody see its there).

Once again: thanks man!!!!!

Sorry guys no updates on the kits yet. Every time i start to be close to having enough saved for the machine something always comes up that wipes out the savings. Hopefully by late spring I will be up and running but I cant make any promises. Recently, ok well like a month ago i had to pick up a cheap DC tig to fix a nice beach ball sized dent in my rear quarter panel since some chick decided to steal a car and run into mine. Hopefully soon I will be back on track but I cant make any promises, though I wish I could. Thanks for all the compliments, sorry I cant be of help just yet.... soon grasshoppers, soon.

Good luck with the research. If you can do a package without a clutch disc and flywheel, it'll greatly save on the overall price. If it's possible, I'd like to get in on it as well.
