Overheating issue revisited, incompetent shop screwed me over

those same thing happened to my 89 supra and what i did as a temp fix i drilled very small hole all around the thermostat and it helped a ton but my problem ended up being a slight blown headgasket. the thing about blown headgaskets is that they never really act the same in every car there is always something new that i hear about a blown head gaske. but good luck

Lucky it wasn't a BHG! My friend's ES had actually not only a BHG but cracked the head (the first time I've ever heard of it on their engines), the biggest tell tale sign was the billows of not smoke, but STEAM pouring out of the exhaust.
