I'm using a magnaflow 4" inlet/outlet muffler with 4 inch turbo back piping.

Haha, the bumper is off because the whole car is getting prepped for paint. I'ts a silver 97 plus bumper. It doesn't matter, the car looks like *** right now so it doens't really bother me.

I'm not trying to show off my 4 row either.

Did u do that 4in yourself? I'm going to make something soon probably, i might use oval piping for better clearence. I was thinkin about doing 4in, might as well, the pipe doesnt really cost more

yeah, i welded it up myself. it isn't hard and i wouldn't pay anyone to weld up an exhaust since it's so damn easy.

my ground clearance sucks *** right now because of the exhaust and I too was looking into oval shaped piping, but never went with it since it costs more. I think they use oval tubing in NASCAR so I know it's available.

I much prefer the sound of a 1j over an SRT-4. Get a good exhaust on it and you'll be good to go. The reason for the early blow off is due to the ceramic blades in the turbos, don't turn your boost up too high on the stockers or you'll be blowing pieces of the blades through your exhaust.

Spintech sells oval piping, and im sure a few more places do also (and they sell the transisions). I can weld muffler pipe, no way ill pay a shop to do it, especially on our bodystyle where theres really no bends involved, im sure you can save even more $$$ by just piecutting the pipe for the bends. Id have to call them or look at the specs on their oval pipe to compare the height difference to even see if its worth the cost (well were talking like $100 max for pipe and transitions, compared to like $50 for 4in pipe).

ric, do you really think you need 4 in. exhaust? peter is running it bacause he is probably making about 800WHP or so. you should be fine with the 3in. and you would have better clearence. im thinking of doing mine soon too. im just not sure what mufflers i want to use, or if i want any resonators.

it can be modded...just not worth it. even though they're the same motor family, the heads are just to different.
