Default dragon tourq converter

alright so im sellin my quad (warrior 350 ) so im gonna have a nice 2 grand to play with.
i have a 98 sc4 with about 87,000 miles on it. i ran the car once and ran 14.8 wiitch isnt far from the rated time (14.7) so i know the engine is in good order. OK so this is my delema. iv seen the dragon tourq converter all over the place cheapest for about $750. thats not bad and i believe they say it takes off .7 of your et or puts 40 more hp to the wheels. Does anyone have this installed on a 98+? or on any else. any other suggestions? also is it possible to chage the rear gear ratio? possibly a supras?

I had both the Dragon TC and Supra LSD installed on my 99 a couple of years ago. Best thing I have done to my car for performance and driveability. Hit the gas from a dead stop and you get instant, bog-free power off the line. The main difference you'll see is more sensitivity to gas pedal input, but I prefer the instantaneous response I have now to the mushier behavior of the stock setup.

Since I had both the TC and LSD installed at the same time, I can't give you a separate assessment on the impact of the LSD, except that I get great traction off the line. If I had to pick one mod or the other, I would choose the TC.

A TC doesn't actually add any horsepower. It just lets your engine get to a higher rpm before the power is applied fully. Kinda like dumping the clutch at a higher rpm in a manual car. I think .7 is optimistic, I've heard of 400's with the TC and upgraded exhaust and more that gained .7 all together

Maybe he got confused...

The dragon TQ sticker would be more likely to add 40HP.

To correctly drive a higher stalled torque converter car, you dont "punch it" off the line at idle
