Shifter moves on acceleration and braking
I noticed an odd thing on my recently purchased 95 sc4 while driving is stop and go traffic today. I usually put my hand on the shifter out of habit and noticed that it will move slightly forward on acceleration and move slightly back to original position when braking. Is this normal? You may not be able to see it move but I can definately feel it move. This doesn't occur on my GS430. Just wondering. Thanks.

Well, ya gotta do something with your hands....
I have the same habit, too, but I don't notice my shifter moving much.
The immediate thought that comes to mind is motor and/or trans mounts. Here's a nice writeup (w/pics) of checking/replacing trans mounts:

Trans mount.......
.....all manual cars will do this if you pop a trans mount.
cheap fix.
but it feels like the shifter will lift straight out of the center consol. Especialy under hard acceleration.
get it fixed before you really do some damage.

My car's shifter moves like 2 mm up or down but always stays locked in the D position. It's been like that forever and I have never even thought that anything could be wrong.
