Default SC300 Alternator the same as the Supras?

Anyone know if we can use the Supra alternator for our SC300s? It's cheaper to get the Toyota part...

TIA

I am pretty sure they are the same except for the connector. I looked up the parts on www.parts.com and both non-turbo and turbo alternators have little difference in price.

cause its for a turbo car, doh.. I used my 1JZGTE alt on my 2JZGE for 2 months before i motor swapped. Our local autozone has a computer where you can check prices of parts without a person, and its funny to see the price difference for the same exact part for a na supra, turbo supra, and sc300. IT can be a difference of $50 on some parts, that are identical and exactly the same.

Rule of thumb ive seen.. MK4 parts on average are a few bucks cheaper then SC300.

call up a lexus dealership and ask for the part number, and then call up a toyota dealership and ask them to cross reference the part number and see if they are the same

as for alternators, i'll bet $1 that the 2ZJGE, 2JZGTE, and 1JZGTE are all idential in connectors and mounting.. as far as amps, yes they are different.

Well, just to give you an idea I am running NA alternator and the connector is different. Futher more, the JDM alternator that came with my motor was totally different.

Really? Intresting how the 1JZGTE fits the 2JZGE then. Maybe the SC/Soarer has its own style of plugs for the alt, no matter what country or motor its sold in.

Chris

If it's a different plug then it's a different alternator....
