what would you recommend?
If you plan on turboing the car and using your current engine, time to buy prep parts.

I would get your exhaust done. You can easily get some nice Magnaflow mufflers and custom piping for around $500.00 including labor.

You can pick up a set of shocks/struts and springs for about $500 also.

These will help the handling side of things.

Next, save up for rims/tires that can put the power to the road.

Turboing you current engine will cost about $5500 installed. $4500 for a Boostlogic.com turbo kit and about $1000 for labor.

This will get you about 320hp to the wheels (about 410hp at the crank) at about 7-8pounds of boost (according to them).

i agree with the exhaust comment.

as for suspension, you can get an inexpensive set up if you look long enough...(i think i still hold the record for cheapest set up at $75 for 2 week old eibachs and KYBs )

as for the turbo comment, i would have to disagree. you can turbo an SC for far less than $5500. one, you dont need the boost logic kit.... dave H has been proven to make just as much power for less than $2k. two, to pay someone $1000 for basically a "bolt on" is absurd. unless you have no idea what your doing with a wrench in your hand. the hardest part is drilling for the oil return.

i still agree though... exhaust, suspension and wheels (brakes too), and then go fast.

cobra, im not bashing, its just what i have learned over time.
