i didnt mess with spark wires at all. all of them are covered up. as for ground wire i dont really know the car starts up fine with my friends battery and drives fine too. but i guess im running off the power from the his battery. i mean the car should still run off the alternators power if my car is started. im hella lost now

lets state the obvious:
1) your car fuel injected, if you remove the ground it WILL NOT run long.
2) whats the voltage of your battery? maybe it has 1 or more bad cells?
even w/ a good alternator, it could pull down the output enough that
it wont run.
3) if you do not have the proper equipment: ohm meter, amp meter &
test light. spend a few bucks & have it properly checked out. its really
a basic check out & we only charge 20.00. in other words stop guessing.

basic spec's w/ a fully charged battery:
engine running / all accy's off should be 13.7v - 14.2v / 20-40 amps
/ headlights / heater on " - " / 35-60+ amps

in reply to the charging diagram post...
go back & check all the fuses. it was fine w/ your friends battery.
when you pulled the ground cable off w/ the engine running you
popped a fuse or damaged a relay.

is the nut on the power post on top of the alternator on tightly? sometimes it will break loose on the inside and instead of tightening it spins the whole thing. did you put the ground wire back onto the body of the alternator? are the battery wire terminals good? any hairline cracks?

i use a volt meter to check if anything is going throught the wire already and its OK. and all the relays and fuses are ok. plus all battery terminals are ok. i took the new alternator to kragens and tested it and its ok. i went back to the place where i brought the alternator and they said if the alternator is connected correctly the battery light should come on when i turnt he key onto the ign. but the light doesnt come on. so its wasnt the alternators fault in the beginning. now its wiring and etc. i dont know what to check anymore. thanks for all your replys.

I had a similar problem to this. How old is your battery? Are all the water wells up at the same level inside the battery? When you tested your battery with a volt meter what was it reading?? I think it could just be your battery.
