Default Turbo Kit Install - Day One

Tonight was pretty much teardown and get motor ready to come out this week. The plan was to burn the midnight oil and get the motor out tonight, in hopes to get head to machine shop and back by Friday for the weekend install.

But I decided I am not going to rush this, as I have another 4 day weekend the following weekend.

Here are some photos for your enjoyment

Don't mind the red vacuum hose, previous owner installed that. :mrgreen

Good luck with it all. Just be careful though, many have tried and failed in turbo'ing their cars.

Coming from DSM roots and having my hands in a couple supra setups, I am pretty confident. Only thing lacking right now is good deep knowledge of the AEM.

Starting at 8pm, I was able to get exhaust system dropped, driveshaft bolts out and some more of the wiring harness removed. James came over about 11:30pm and we worked on getting the power steering pump and A/C compressor off the block and out of the way.

We fought the rest of the night pulling the wiring harness out of the way, which happens to run both side of the intake manifold, making it a complete ***** to take off. We finally called it a night about 2:15am.

Come hell or high water, this motor is coming out tonight.

Looks good, I do agree that our IM is pretty crappy just from the standpoint that it runs on top of the valve covers.
