I swapped into my SC300 a JDM 2jzgte with no trouble and at very little cost. I bought the car for 5k, the motor and tranny (R154) for $2800 shipped, Supra tt harness for $400, Super-chipped ECU for $350 (used), all stock side-mount intercooler and piping from a Supra for $250. I did all the work myself with the help of Phil's swap manual (BIG help with wiring) in an amount of time that equals 3 full days.

So you see, for about $8800 (not including exhaust and VOLK GTP rims) I have a pretty quick car. I also have a 94 Supra T88 and an IS300 (turbo charging soon), but in all honesty... the SC is my daily driver. For some reason I just like driving it on a daily basis more than I do the other two.

Pics of my SC are kinda crappy, but gives you an idea. DON'T frown at the air intake... my filter hasn't come in yet Also, time to clean up the greasy bay (from greasy hands). It's in there and it RUNS at 17psi making 413rwhp... JDM at that!! I have UR cam gears that you can't see here.

Hey genyosai, did you buy that prewired harness from turbosc or did you end up doing it your self using Phil's manual?

Sure!!! http://www.osakajdmmotors.com

Motor and tranny came in one week!! NOTHING broken.

Call them up because they have things in stock that aren't on their website!

This SC300 was already manual. I had an automatic, but shortly after purchasing that one I found the manual and sold the auto. Nevertheless... I'm now working on one that IS an auto, pedals and hydraulics already installed. NOT A PROBLEM! I have part numbers from Lexus for pedals, lines, etc.

Also, having learned so much from Phil's manual, I've taken on the task of puring over IS300 shop manuals to make the cross references with the Supra. Why?? Take a guess

I made the harness using Phil's manual!!! I took my time and checked, checked, double checked as I did the work. Started the car for the first time with only ONE CELcode. And that was the code I KNEW I'd get.... the secondary o2 heater code (because it wasn't connected yet). NO OTHER CODES!! EASY, flawless swap! I promise. Just plan it long and careful and it all goes well.

Yeah that is a good price. Did you just buy the long block, tranny from Osaka and get the ecu, harness somewhere else? Was the harness and ecu USDM or JDM?

Remember I mentioned that you need to call because they have things in stock that aren't on their site. Besides, the $3,500.00 is for the VVti 2JZGTE. That's a much newer engine with the automatic e-shift tranny attached.

Give them a call. Their website hasn't changed even since I bought my motor about 1 year ago

That's right. I got the motor (all sensors, manifolds, turbos, and JDM harness) and the tranny of a 1jz soarer for $2,800 including shipping. Rather than going throught the trouble of extending the JDM harness, I used a USDM harness that I bought from a supraforums member for $380. I then modified the harness (interior connectors only) using the interior connectors from my SC300 harness.

My ECU is a superchips modified unit, boost-cut removed and rev limiter set to 7,800rpm. I bought that used at supraforums for $350 (great price!). Also bought stock supra intercooler and hoses for a mere $200.00 (supraforums again).

I used the stock flywheel of my SC300 and bought an RPS clutch kit for the MKIII Supra turbo. I had a local machine shop to tap my flywheel so that the MKIII supra clutch set would mount. All about another $330.00. You can use a stock w58 tranny (SC300/MKIV supra non-turbo), keep your stock SC300 flywheel (if a manual) and get a clutch kit for the MKIV supra non-turbo.

OK, ok... so there was a "little" more cost involved, but not much. What's this, another $1,260.00? Sorry

This all sounds really good, if I got a MKIII Supra 1JZGTE Turbo Kit, would it fit well in a 1JZGTE SC300 ? I was thinking of going with the T78 Greddy Turbo kit for the MKIII Supra. It's a nice kit and the fact that the 1JZGTE can rev up is pretty appealing. I do have some questions though:

1. Will the V160(6spd) bolt onto the 1JZGTE or will it be the same predicament of a new driveshaft and all that ? Also, is the R154 built to handle the high RPM that the 1JZ can throw out ?
2. Most 1JZGTE clips I find are 1JZGTE w/ VVTII, where can I find a 1JZGTE 5spd, seems like the manuals are hard to come by.

Thanks for any help, hopefully I can get my 95 5 spd on its way to boosting, thanks.

1. All JDM 1jz-gte Soarer's and MkIII Supra's came with the R154 tranny, so they should be able to handle a good amount of power.

2. Venus auto has non-vvti 1jz engines.

Any turbo upgrade kit designed for the Supra JZA70 will work for any non-VVTi 1JZ-GTE. As mentioned above, the R154 is the stock transmission mated to the 1JZ-equipped JZZ30. It's also the stock transmission on the Supra JZA70. I've been driving mine for months, and it has no trouble at all with holding the power or slipping, even on a stock Toyota clutch.

From what I've heard, the R154 tranny is based on a Toyota truck gearbox. It's very strong and can withstand lots of power. There's a Soarer I know of around here that's pulling a tad over 300rwkw using the R154 gearbox, albeit with a new clutch because his old one was gone.

From what I understand, the R154 can hold up to about 700rwhp. I'll let everyone know once I get tere
