I dunno, still got those cams? Tax refund isn't too much further down the road..LOL.

I would really like to know what the car would do with slicks, but I'm still not willing to buy them.

I think I need to throw a couple of more shims in the trans, in the 1-2 accumulator. Still bounces but it is MUCH less and it seems to happen MUCH faster.

KC,
Congrats! Finally I think you're one of the very fews that can break the 12 seconds with the SC400. I'm happy for you, man. I think from 12.8 to 12.5 isn't too hard.

I think I'm the fastest on this thread. I know there are some faster ones out there though.

Also, sc400nitro is running some pretty killer 1/8 times with his 200 shot. Have to wonder what he'd do in the 1/4.

I Ran faster but not quicker at the track. 13.1 @ 115mph Can't find the video
Right after I had the car running last time i recorded on an autometer D-Pic a time of a 12.6 @ 124mph
the car ran much better then, but it wasn't anything that was official.
Here is a video of the run where i melted a piston. if you watch the right exhaust at the top end of the track you can see the smoke.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28ul6hwY-i4 13.6 @ 110mph.

Ya, I've seen the videos. My stomach turned when your motor blew....

Did you have traction problems with that 13.1 run? You should have run much faster trapping at 115.

tell me about it. She's almost ready again though.
I didn't have trac problems off the line, but it spun at the top of 1st and 2nd.
The ran 2.3, & 2.4 60 foot times cause of the auto trans.
Your 1.9 on a stock auto makes me jealous.
Nice job KC

Well, modified stock auto. 2800 stall, shimmed accumulators, adjusted the main line pressure and the TV cable is at max tightness.

BTW, a couple of weeks back, at a different (1/8) track, I had a 1.793 60ft. I usually average around 1.85's. I would have likely run a 12.6xx with the new(er) auto if I could have duplicated the 1.793 yesterday. But, I only had three runs.

Are you putting in a manual?

I had a very simular trans BUT!!!! like a 2200 stall.
the trans hit really well, but the stall sucked. the car wouldn't leave under power.

I'm assuming you had traction problem off the line.

I cannot launch at the 2800 rpm stall. I launched at around 2000 rpm to get that 1.793. I tried to do it on my second run yesterday and spun.

Slicks would no doubt make a huge difference. If I could launch at WOT....OMG!!

Keep up the good work!

Now KC95SC400 claiming to run a 1.8 on a modified trans sounds much more reasonable. He has a stall. That is the key to getting the car to launch better.

The stock stall with first gear doesn't allow the motor to get into it's power early. This is the reason the cars don't run quick 60 foot times.

This is what a 1.36 60 foot time looks like.

if you think a "Stock" automatic can get an sc to launch .2 thnths slower. you got a different car then I do.

This is my car running a 2.4 60 foot.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lldLDPbbLs4
which looks more like the "Stock" to you?

P.S. that buick had a built LT1 with a built trans, and gear.
I don't wanna hear any B.S. about how I got taken off the line by your grandmother. LOL
I did run the 1/4 faster if that means anything? LOL probably not right.
I know your grandmother kicked my butt. :-(

LOL, I guess you can't consider my trans stock.

For reference...I have 2800rpm stall, .6 inches of shims in the 1-2 and 2-3 accumulators, fully tight TV cable, pressure regulator adjusted on the valve body and the no 4 solenoid disabled.
