hey thanks for the reply....
currently i am actually seeking to go the route of getting an ECU and then to have the caps relaced and shipped to me... its my best option right now as i do not know of anyone in jamaica that can recondition these ECUs
as for the ecu i have, i can say for a fact that its not a rare one.....lol
my gs300 is a non-cali spec ...
is Tanin a member here on club Lexus or is it a company ?

They are both a company and an official CL vendor.
If you want to have the parts shipped to you, be absolutely sure they are the correct types specified in the ECU Capacitor thread I posted before. They cannot be anything else and as far as I know come only from Japan.
GS300 Federal ECU should be very easy to replace or grab a spare for if necessary

Ahh, yes! I should have realized-- Kingston! ![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Good that you moved to the other correct forum but I'll reply here for the moment. Your GS300 is very substantially similar to the SC in regards to this issue.
Well... I don't personally know of any specialist shops in Jamaica... or even in the Bahamas. There might be but you want someone who knows what they are doing and who will use the correct capacitors for reconditioning. They're very specific types and come direct from Japan.
I'd talk to Tanin and see what the options are, yes. I am sure they can do international. Or if this is a US-spec model you have they can probably match the ECU number with a unit they can obtain and rebuilt it and ship to you in Kingston. It would involve the cost of another used ECU but would involve only one way shipping. They should be able to do this easily unless you've got the rarest of SC ECU's. I honestly don't know how the cost would work out but it's a thought.
The age of these ECU's means they will all be affected by leaking capacitors be they USDM, JDM or European. So it's more than likely many of us will need reconditioned capacitors and drivers eventually as time marches on.
Good luck, skytechja!

im having the same exact issue as u guys with my gs300...
believe me i have repalced alot... even afm.... lol.... but my plugs need to be changed and i need to check my injectors to see if anyone is being stuck open....
got my ecu replace and yes it ran n then started to smoike and the heavy gas smell was still there....
my timimg was out and when i try to catch it back as best as possible there is still that gas smell...
i noticed oil on my exhaust manifold so i figure vavlve seals may need replacing n all....
but the ecu was reapaired in a rush n all n not sure if it was done properly or if its gone again... howeveri do have a computer that was properly done which i just picked uup today and i will be trying it tomorrow before i think about lifting the head and doing all that work..
i havent done any compression tests as yet n all that though.....
these ECUs are really sensitive though... lol...and make sure u guys are repalcing em properly as well.... lol...
if timimg is out and tps is incorectly set/not working...... then it too can cause the excessive gas consumption and smell in exhaust....
