Pass emissions with 1 cat?
Im completely gutted from 1st cat and straight pipe were the second cat is. Could i put the original cat on and pass emissions with 1 cat? (georgia emissions) or would i be better of with 1 hi flow cat (w/ or w/o O2 sensors? i dunno) 2.5 inch i suppose is the size to go with

yah we get the sniffer in GA
and my car had trouble with the NOx emissions on my car.
i dont know how to fix the problem thats why i moved my registration to an area where there is no emisions requirements

Use a 3 way Magnaflow High Flow with a 3 inch opening to go on that 2.5 inch pipe. Welds just right and you shoud have no problem. Should not even be a problem with O2 sensors.

Nevertheless, I have had my car tested on emissions equipment and it passes even with bad gas and high altitude (with less oxygen) and Mexico City is just about as strict as California (except for the bribery down here )
The 3-way is supposed to the do the work of the precats. The precat(s) are just to help reduce emissions until the main cat has had time to get warmed up.

nah either ur cats are gone or they aint doin sumthin right. I was around 120k wen i got inspected and i passed. Went back after i gutted it and failed. Now i guess ill get a cat and see what happens. Since the pre cats are used cuz the main cat needs time to heat up. So i guess 1 cat will do juss run the car hot and get inspected. They do put a fan on the damn car which can actually defeat da purpose of using heat to reduce emissions

no the point in heating the car up is to get the cats hot not the engine so the fan makes no difference. And the reason you want the cats warmed up is because the metals in them undergo a chemical reaction which is what cleans the air, and this reaction takes a certain amount of initial heat before it will begin to work. thus the reason to get it hot, which is totaly independent of coolant temp.
