Did you ever get an explaination from your mechanic as to why this might have happened?
The 1UZFE has been proven solid to over 200,000 miles.
What do you think caused it?

I don't think the 98+ SC400 engine cover will fit the older 1UZ-FE engines (engines look to be a lot different externally). I believe it's the same engine cover as the GS400's
I dunno what could've caused no much damage. But 2 cylinders had zero compression and 1 was really low. Due to a combination of bad piston rings and stuck/bent valves.
I'm keeping one of the busted pistons as momento (to remind me to treat the car well). I'll get a pic after I get it polished up real nice.
