recently got an SC and the AC is acting up.... what is it?
i recently bought a 93 sc300 like 2 weeks ago
im in houston and its hot as hell here....
i was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and can help me figure out what it is.
when i first start my car in the morning or after its been sitting for a while the AC does not work, it takes like 10 mins with the ac on and driving before it starts to get cold.
and its only cool, not cold. ive noticed that it gets warmer when i come to a stop. if i drive on the freeway its really cold.
is it my compressor? i put in another can of 134a a couple days ago and its the same (its been converted)
im thinking of buying another compressor. its just odd that it works only after some time and some driving. i can start it turn on the AC and start driving on the freeway right away but its still hot for like 10 mins at least then cool down

Same thing happened on mine. It was actually ~2.5 lbs low. (or 2.3 lbs... I cant remember). The R134 conversion leaks. Period. (you cant get around this).
Drop another can into it or take it somewhere that they can monitor how much you put in it (dont overfill). That should fix it.
