So he basically is saying that the Tex's with a custom 2.5" exhaust and Daizen bushings in the LCA's netted him about 30~ ish hp from a stock 93 ~ 175 ish...

That's impressive, but to go from 175 to 225 is plain awesome--

Do you have a BFI or some kind of intake on the car??

No BFI. I just took off the snorkel.

So a stock air filter with no snorkel or a K/N or a TRD with no snorkel?

Stock filter. The car will never be fast enough to require an aftermarket air filter.

So what you're telling me is that somewhere on Planet Soarer in the BFI article where they say that the factory element flows more than many aftermarket units is basically true..

Fair enough..

I did not say the stock air filter flows better than aftermarket filters. I am saying that my car is so slow that the 0.5 hp an aftermarket air filter gives me isn't worth it. Running a 15.8 and a 15.7 in the 1/4 mile doesn't make much of a difference to me. However, if I were to run a 12.0, getting that 11.9 in the 1/4 would be a big of enough difference for me to look into a better air filter.
