Talking Dyno: 93 SC400 (Tex's header's and 2.5 in. exhaust)

I finally had the opportunity to have the car dyno tuned. I am very suprised across the board. First, my baseline dyno was much higher than expected. Second, the gains from tuning was way more than minimal.

Mods: Tex's headers, 2.5 inch exhast (Install Thread), Apex'i SAFC 2
Other mods: TRD LSD, 4.10 rear end from some supra, supra seats, almost all the Daizen products, and more stuff I probably can't remember.

Dyno:
Base: HP: 206 TQ: 230
Tuned: HP: 226 TQ: 247
Other stuff: According to the shop, their Dyno Jet dynos lower than a local Mustang dyno and another local Dyno Jet, so take the absolute values on the graph with a grain of salt.

P.S Thanks Aliga for the referral. The shop was friendly and their cars were amazing to look at while killing time.

its been a while since you have done some of these mods. can you remember the days of being bone stock? and how has you car been holding up against these mods?

Great gain on the tune. No vids? I'd love to hear how that V8 sounds with the exhaust on the dyno, must be gargling real loud.

The car has held up fine. However, I can't say how the car will hold up to daily driving. I've put less than 3000 miles on the car in the last 2 years.

And I can't really remember the days of being stock. I've had the headers on for over 2 years and only managed to get the car dyno'd and tuned today.

Sorry, no videos. Only the NELOC guys are privileged to my noxious exhaust

Were all of the runs done in one day? And were the gains shown all from the tuning?
It looks like the car could benefit from some porting on the intake side. I hope to get my car baselined soon, and then start modifying a little at a time and dynoing inbetween to see how much and where power is gained..

you can also see how it went real rich stock but they leveled it out nicely. if you are n/a they probably could have gone a bit more leaner, but its still a nice dyno. i may have to bring my SC there.

Yes, all the runs were done in one day. We did a total of 4. I'd put that graph up but it would be impossible to read.

And yes, the gains were from tuning. The baseline run is just from mods. Personally, I don't think my car would have dyno'd 206 w/o the headers and exhaust.

Looks great Stan! Keep up the good work. Bring that bad boy to Harrisburg to break it in.

Verylost, the Tex headers brought you 20hp or so...That is very good...My S@S headers probably did about the same for my SC4....The S&S headers are the shorty version I am not sure what type the Tex Headers are... I would have guessed 15hp or so would be gained from headers....Impressive.......

My car got a bit more noisy with my headers, and I have to throw two more high flowing resonators to quiet things down some... The increased power is felt with the headers that is for sure....... Got to love those headers...Rumble rumble.....

The headers did not net me 20 hp. I gained 20 hp from tuning.
