Not without modification, and I'm not sure exactly what the modification would have to be.

Well done Howiedoit.

Does a short shifter exist for the 1992 sc300's?

ahhh ok reading the post from before i thought the pre 95's had different tranny... so if all 5spd sc300 came with w58 tranny can someone explain why it wouldnt fit the pre 95's?? this is really confusing.

zinkie13 - have you came about installing the kit yet?

The transmissions are the same. The shifter linkage is totally different.

Hey Kung,
I kinda wanna keep the old shifter...just in case

You can do like other people have done...cut and weld your shifter to make it shorter...

I won't be attempting the install until my swap is complete. So maybe sometime this weekend. I'll see if its possible to modify it to work. If not...then its for sale.

the 92-94 shifter was a ball/socket shifter. the 95+ shifter is a eye/bolt type.

What do you mean it doeasn't fit?
You mean it doeasn't go all the way down?
If it fits the thread on your original shifter and the original **** fits the thread on the short shifter, my logical assumption would be that the TRD **** should fit the short shifter thread.

the trd shift **** fits the original shifter. however, the fat portion of the short shifter is so fat (and the hole on the trd shif **** is smaller) that it doesn't allow the trd to seat to where the thread begins. i'm kinda bummed. i dunno what to do with my trd shift **** now.
