i was checking my car today running it to see if the squeek was coming from the crank for sure. cause it first sounded like it was coming from the power steering. i sprayed some belt dressing to try to quite the squeek it worked so i took it for a ride and my gauges went out and the car started to sputter. i made it back to my house and checked the car running barley and it has low voltage running bad alternator. what a head ach i had my acessory belt off and i spun the alternator it spun fine and the squeek came from the crank. i actually flushed my ps thinking it was that but finally i have the same issue as you bad alternator. again thanks i am glad i just did not start buying stuff to figure it out.

hi guys.
would a vaccum leak cause this noise to come on too?
mine happens all the time, except the noise slowly dies out when i step on the gas, and comes back to the whinning noise when i let go of the throttle.
and also, how much would it be to get a new headgasket put on?
i'm losing coolant too.
it could just be bad coolant.

I'm having the same problem. Mine goes away when I push the clutch in.

Throw out bearing
Pilot bearing
Transmission input shaft bearings

The transmission and bell housing will need to be removed to determine which or the combination of the three.

Insure the clutch free play has not been eliminated by air in the hydraulic lines. If so, the throwout bearing will constantly run on the pressure plate release fingers, causing it's failure.
