Now I am going to be honest here. I think cryo treating may help us. Ill tell you why. S2000 guys cryo treat their rear-end gears and they end up holding 100-200 more hp. Why wouldnt the same work for us? Cryo helps with stress, which is why causes our transmissions to die.

If anyone can add anymore to this, please let me know. I think cryo treating our parts will help. If anyone has anything else to add, please do. I do want everyones opinion.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but S2000's are almost a ton (if not more) lighter than a fully loaded SC300. hp (horsepower) will not kill any transmisison, but torque will. I still firmly believe at the weight the w58 transmissions have to pull, cryo treating will not help at all.

i agree. the difference between the transmission and the rear end is driver error. the ring gear doesnt suffer from missed shifts or lazy feet. that and the gear sprogs are much thinner. in all the w58 just isnt made to handle the stress, it was a readily available part that toyota could use that could handle stock power. now a dog gear setup thats a different story... find someone who makes them and then the w58 would handle as much as you wanted to feed it.
