Question SC300 6 Speed and LSD

Hey everyone!
I have been searching for several months now looking for a good 95-97 SC 300 5-speed without any luck. My question is this: What is the cost and logistics involved with swapping the auto out and installing a supra 6-speed and lsd? Are those parts difficult to find also? Thanks for taking your time to give me some advice!

-John

PS: I saw Team Lextacy at the ASU show on Sat... Tight rides you guys!

well its the basic stuff...
you need a clutch, flywheel, custom lengthened driveshaft, and you'd prolly want an LSD from an automatic SupraTT since they bolt right in... and of course you need the transmission

now the difference between the auto and 5-speed SC300s is; the 5-speed already has the clutch box installed which is a PITA, the clutch master cylinder mounted, and i think the starter will work with the 6-speed as well... all you need when you have the 5-speed is the slave cylinder...

but with the auto you have to mount the clutch box, mount a master and slave cylinder, i'm pretty sure you have to get a new starter too...

i'd look for two things... look for a 95-97 manual, or look for a GOOD price on an automatic... and you dont have to limit it in your area either... when i was in autotrader i found a lot of 5-speeds... i just happened to stumble upon mine here in podunk Alabama

I'm still thinking about converting my auto into a 5spd(cheaper than 6spd)
I know everything should bolt right on.
There is still this one problem I have.
I don't know what to do with the ECU (engine&trans computer)
Do I have to switch it with one from 92-97 sc300 5spd or I just leave it as it is ?

What do you guys think.

you should be able to leave it as is; because the tranny computer just won't hook up to anything... the rest of the ecu is the same as the 5-speed car i believe...

yeah as long as you aren't planning on making 400rwhp then the 5-speed will really make your car get up and go compared to what it was
