What type of MPG does that get? I bet its pretty good. What are the disadvantages of going with a vvti 1jz?

Any update on this swap? I'm trying to get this moving along.

I figured I'd just get whatever is on ebay and change the oil pan to rear sump. What's the deal with the wiring? I figured it would be plug and play if going into a VVt-i [98-00 SC300].

Also, do you have to obtain an engine set from a Soarer?

From what I have heard a swap in a 97+ is a no go unless you have a way around emissions testing.

Emissions testing is not a problem where I'm at. I'm thinking about letting Dr. Tweak tackle the wiring job, and make this baby plug and play.

Ive been leaning towards this compared to the aristo swap because of the manual tranny. Are the stock turbos just as bad as the reg. 1jz? Not planning on a turbo upgrade anytime soon, but i wouldnt want the turbos to go bad after fmic and exhaust mods. Also, am i able to use my ge oil pan for the motor?

The 1JZ VVT-i is not twin turboed like the older 1JZs. They came stock with just a single turbo setup which gives some nice low end torque. I think they still are ceramic blades though so i don't know how much boost it's willing to handle.

Oh didnt know that. Shouldve done a little more research, but i guess it would make it easier to upgrade the turbo to a better one???? Which oil pan do i need in order to get his into my sc?
