I would pick the Toy. dealersince its a cousin to the Lex. I am an alt. reduilder, and I would look at the wiring harness of the alt. for excessive heat on the wires or plug in, if they look normal then repl. the alt. and warning light should be off.An alt always has a main hot wire going to it, if something shorts out in the alt. internally it could smoke and burn untill the bat. cable is bisconnected at the bat.

i have a distributor leak
yea but it is a sc300 the powersteering is on the other side its a alternator problem if you dont have any oil leaks coming from the distributor jus cheack to see if the wires that connect to the alt is fried ,if not have an electrician look at it before installing a new one
