My 1.5JZ-GTE T67 build for my 92 SC300
#49
Lexus Champion
After managing to keep my car pretty stock for about two years I finally took the plunge and did a swap. The car is a 92 Lexus SC300 5spd. Here are a few details on the swap:
2JZ-GE bottom end with Supra TT rods and pistons
Stock 1JZ-GTE head
"Stryder" exhaust manifold
Garret T67 with a .70a/r and a p-trim exhaust
HKS 40mm wastegate
3" downpipe and exhaust to an HKS carbon muffler
Tial BOV
3" charge piping
24x12x4 intercooler
Walbro 255 fuel pump
6an feed line
TTC fuel rail
Rochester 750cc injectors
Aeromotive FPR
AEM Wideband
MAP ECU
Spec Stage 5 clutch
I think thats about it. All the work was done at Fastech Motorsports in Louisville, TN [(865)681-7708] by Mark and Kris. From the engine assembly to the charge pipe fabrication, I'm thoroughly impressed with the job they did. They were meticulous in all their work and they consulted me on all the little details of the swap. I would recommend them 100% for any and all work you need done.
Anyway, here are some pics. Sorry the lighting sucks but its dark and cold outside so the dim lighting of my garage will have to do.
All the welding/cutting/fabrication on the charge piping, upper radiator pipe, down pipe, and exhaust where done by Mark and Kris. The cold side of the charge pipe is ONE big baller mandrel bent piece which clears everything, power steering and AC lines included. You have to see it off the car to really appreciate it. Most of the polishing was done by me and I promise it looks better in person under natural light rather than my shatty digital camera.
Talk amongst yourselves.. Comments are welcome.

The car was running a W58 tranny. I own the vehicle now. Since I got it I installed an HKS triple disc clutch with a V160. Right now it's under the knife getting BC 264 cams and I'm going to install another block and build the current one that I'm running. Dynoing it soon the last run was 431rwhp at 14psi

Nice thread to bring up. Very clean setup you have there, it must make some nice numbers.
Its from "06" so Id guess hes on the W58 with a aftermarket clutch. Who knows about now tho or what numbers hes making

The compression is slightly higher than 9.2.1 because of the 1jzgte head. The head design which is a good thing.
That's one of the best looking 1.5 i have ever seen.
If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for the HKS clutch? how do you like it so far?
thanks

ok call me out on being newb on this but what is the difference with the 1jz and the 1.5jz?
i wanna start building a daily drifter but i don't know what engine to go with.
i know that Takahiro Ueno from D1 grand prix has a 1.5 and i think my build would be relatively the same but i could use some other imput.
anyways car's looking sick bro! anything ells you getting done to it?
