i custom made my intercooler piping, i had some straights, some 45s and some 90s, and i cut and pieced mine together from scratch...with that said i have some 45s, some 90s and some straights left over
.(mount the BOV closer to the throttle body it helps prevent compressor surge)

mmmmmmk.... so the flutter when you let off the gas completely there is compressor surge?? any hks ssq bov ive ever heard has fluttered,
"sequentially" letting off air (thats why it flutters) the wastegate is the woooosh sound when you hit full boost letting out the uneeded air so you dont over boost.... i think its quite strange that EVERY car ive seem to have seen/heard with an hks ssq has this trademark flutter sound unless of course its re-routed into the system and not vented into the atmosphere...... and no i dont think they ALL have compressor surge even though it is a similar sound.....someone needs to elaborate on this cause i dont get it

hahaha....ok.....ITS NOT A BOV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats the wastegate...all big turbos with external wastegates sounds like that......ok.....i have a tial38mm wastegate...his is bigger but sounds the same.....the wastegate makes that single loud purge sound, like a ping.......the flutter is the compressor surge,its leftover air......its not a BOV making that sound

shure thats not a ssqv with the purple fin insert? you can buy inserts for around 5 $ each. the purple fins sound just like the noise at the very end. there is a gold one too that makes a louder whistling noise
