Auto - Manual Conversion. Shifter Hole Help
Hey guys im doing an auto-manual swap with a w58 out of a 92 sc300 into my 92 sc300. Problem is, the shifter wont reach the holes where my AT shifter came out of. Its maybe 1.5" too short. The thing is, right where its short, there is a hump and screw holes for what looks like the MT shifter. I thought no cutting was needed for a 92-94 swap, but if using 95-96 parts, cutting was needed.
So in my case I need to cut forward, in front of where the auto shifter hole is (making that shifter hole useless). And when I eventually go 6 speed, ill need to cut behind where the auto shifter hole is ?
I cant think of any way to get this to work without cutting the shifter hole, did anyone else run into this problem and fix it before cutting?

u gotta cut sorry to say easy way to do it is i drilled a bunch of holes in a circle around that hump then used cutters to cut the connecting parts between the holes.
i thought i didnt have to cut either but u got to. i used a piece of lexen glass from home depot and ran a bead of RTV gasket maker around the edge and screwed it in place to cover the auto transmission hole.
