Default gte head help...

hi everyone,

old question i know but as usual on most forums the lies get mixed in with the truth.

i wanted to know if the ge and gte head can be swaped, and i found out i can.

i also found out that the if i wanted to use the ge block with gte head i would have a bit of obsticles.

1. ge is distributer and the gte is crank and cam angle sensor, so i will need the gte oil pump to work with the gte head.

2. wireing is another task, i was thinking of just getting the TT ecu and wireing but then i read that the ge and gte ecu's are somewhat similar i.e (pin layout) so all you have to do is run a couple more wires fron under hood, and just use the TT ecu.

and just to let you guys know, for every helpfull thread that i found there were two or three that said that the head swap is impossible because the bold patterns were different.

could this be the reason why newbies and others do not like searching

i just wanted to know what i am missing, because i could not find anything like a write up or info on the wireing part of it.

i would love it if someone who did it wouls enlighten me,

i've been searching and pm'ing for a couple days now, with no definative answer.

So you want to swap the gte head on the ge short block? I guess this is similar to the 1.5JZ swap. You probably figured this out already but you will need ecu and harness along with complete head and twins. The head should bolt on the short block no problems as for everything else I'm not sure check www.supraforums.com and www.clubna-t.com for more info.
