LOL! true true.... lack of people searching is giving me the blues. if you search NOT JUST ON CL you will find info on your wiring issues. im going through the same thing right now, and i can tell you the chaser and soarer ecu pinout's are the same! you will need to wire up the 2 plugs 16P and 28P to the body harness if you want to start the car(clutch switch) , have a/c ect....

sorry about not paying attention to detail on making this thread. anyway i got the two plugs i need for the ecu, placed the pins into the sockets that are needed and now i can mate them to the body harness of the car.
BTW, the connectors were sourced from a Camry.

Why not just take the simple way, as suggested above... get a US Supra harness and ECU... The engine doesn't know if it is connected to a US or Japanese ECU, but there is plenty of information available on cross-referencing these harnesses to your SC300 (in English)... and, NO, you MOST DEFINITELY cannot just "match wire colors" as suggested. Many, many differences in pin positions AND wire colors.

because 1jz uses map sensor.
as long as you have ecu and engine wiring diagram anything is possible. When I did SR20det swaps I would buy the engine missing harnesses for alot cheaper and convert the usdm harness over. It would make a cleaner install since it was already routed for LHD. and I was free to position the ignitor chip anywhere I wanted.
So as long as you know the wiring and have the harness/ecu to that engine you can make it work.

Doing the wiring myself doesnt bother me Ive done numerous k20>sr20 swaps so im real comfortable doing it, I just need to know:
1. what year camry and model?
2. where do you take the plugs from (ecu, body, under hood, etc.)?
3. what did you do about the fuse box wiring?
Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but in my search this is what came closest (actually the nuts) to my '1jz woes'
