Thumbs up What I want. Tell me what you think.

Alright. I have a completely stock SC300. I am kinda short on money at the moment, but here is what i want to get done sometime in the VERY near future. I have been reading up here, and from what i hear the Apex S-AFC is well worth it. So i definitly want to get that. Also i need an intake. In a test, i read the Apex Power Intake universal air filter is the best way to go, but would i need a heat shield or can i just attace the filter. I also need exaust. I like the Apex N1 mufflers, but I REALLY want a cat-back system. Is it possible to get just the 2 mufflers and then have someone make custom piping? Also, what kind of HP gains would I be looking at with these mods. THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THEIR HELP.

Well since the AFC requires a bit of tuning, I'd get the exhaust and intake first... it shouldn't cause any trouble either way, but ya never know...

Apexi' N1s? good choice

for a dual system on a N/A SC300 I'd go with the 60mm N1s
Yeah you have to get custom piping for the N1s... there are only two catbacks that I know of made for our cars here in the USA, and they both cost over $800

check out: http://www.rollhard.com

They have the N1s for a GOOD price; not to mention the AFC and intake stuff...

for the intake that you're wanting (Yes, IMO Apexi' is the best filter type; i've seen the articles too ) you're going to either have to retrofit the filter with your own homemade adapter, or order your own... the filter bolts to the MAF sensor; and the sensor is retangular while the filter exit is circular... like putting the square block in the round hole when you were a kid

Yeah I'd either buy a heatshield (i haven't seen one), or make your own with some aluminum... shouldn't be to hard... just cut a hole for the MAF and filter, and make sure it seals off from the engine area... i'd use rubber seals on the outside of the aluminum shielding so it doesn't cut any hoses or mess up your paint, aluminum is sharp when its cut

The AFC is definitely worth it; follow the directions you see in the other posts for it... but make sure you don't confuse your tuning; make sure you have a similar setup... some of the cars on here may be turbocharged; and they use totally different tuning than your car would.

Another idea for the future is nitrous... NOS sells their kit for the SupraTT for $489... Mine has been ordered from http://www.mvpmotorsports.com
You can buy seperate fuel and nitrous jets to bump your shot up to a 100hp shot... this is a wet kit; and its safe provided you take necessary precautions like ignition retard and not hitting the redline

Have you got a 5-speed? W58 (the 5-speed) transmission can be found on http://www.car-part.com for around $750 or so with warranties (used)... Go read some more articles and find all the parts you need on that website...

Have fun and enjoy!

Good question. I believe they custom make that heatshield so I don't think it would be too much of a problem. Just call Chris at lexussc400.com and ask. 310-864-6450
Hope this helps, Adam

thanks Abutler696. I should be giving them a call sometime this week. ALSO, I was wondering where I could order an adapter for the intake. I am not the greatest with cars yett, so making my own could get nasty. THANKS.
