good job on the intake man. How much HP do you think you are gaining off of it? Are you going to take it to the dyno anytime soon? Thanks, adam

As in the hp gain, I'm not sure but it is gaining something much more than the cone filter alone. The response it GREAT and the pick up is quite apparent through out the power band, especially in the upper ranges. Plus the sound is sweeeeeet toooooo.

hey man, that's awesome. I think I'm going to go for the Weapon-R V-2 filter pretty soon. According to MadMadSC400 it gained over 6rwhp over the RMM setup with the K&N. I can barely believe it, but if its true........that V-2 foam filter is mine. I just hope it can connect to any full intake system for future use. Oh, and if you ever get it dynoed, let us know...... Mod looks good. Did you make the MAF adaptor? It looks a little different than the store bought ones. What filter are you running?

I'm getting ready to do the same thing before christmas, so glad to see things went smoothly.

The maf adapter is a 4" round unit made by my uncle for me. It is larger than the store bought ones that are smaller and angular(just trying to see if it makes a small difference). The filter is a K&N part # RU- 5280... cost about $35 bucks.

Post Keith or anyone

I'm sure you can make the entire set up in about 1 hour or so. I outlined the steps 1-2-3. If you need more help let me know and I'll be glad to help if you have any problems making one.

Thanks for the pix and filter info. I have been debating which filter to use. I have narrwed it down to the K&N or the Apexi. The Apexi is over twice the price, so I think that solved my problem. Does anyone know of a place or person that has discounts for the Apexi parts?

By chance, do you know the size of the plastic snorkle that was replaced (between MAF and intake man.)? The 3 1/2" replacement you used appeares to be a little smaller; is that the case or are my eyes just messing with me?

Again, glad to see everything went fine.

The dryer hose/ducting I used is 4" or 4 1/2". The air filter is a 4" type that is larger than it appears on the screen. There is also a longer filter you can use. but it was to long for my application. The circumference of the filter is as large or larger the the area of the oem filter. Plus with the K&N, it flow a lot better.

I also want an Apexi filter but it is to expensive compared to the K&N. They are both great filters.

Default custom intake

I also made an intake for my sc300. I had a peice of 3" pipe laying around and I cut it down to size, used my HKS adapter from my old Supra and bought a filter. It came out pretty nice. Throttle responce has improved. Next thing is to try it out at the track.
