Not at all saying that the car isnt bad *** and the RB26 is a sick *** motor, But why in an SC? its like putting a mustang motor in your vette My only conclusion is that the owner of the car owns or works at a nissan tuning shop and has tons of RB's sitting around. And he likes the soarers so just put a nissan motor in his car just to do it. Why an RB26 over a 2JZ-GTE? the swap had to have been harder and the GTE is just as capable if not more.

Why not put an RB in a car? Easily accessable, huge aftermarket, and because they can. I see you're doing a 1jz swap motors are very similar.

And to answer your question as to WHY. This was was a promotion car just showing what they can do and trying to be unique.

I read an article last month in a magazine (sorry I can't remember which one) where the guy from XS said that the 2JZ-GTE was over rated in his opinion. He said something about it making useless power. He said the motor was capable of making a lot of power, but traction is always an issue. Whereas with a RB26 500- 600 horses would be very effective.

I could understand that being true. I couldn't believe it when I read it, but the Skyline being AWD would be able to plant the power better. Maybe he was talking about track use.

I think if the 2jz-gte was only tuned at 500-600 hp, there would be much less traction issues as well (compared to 800-900 hp).

Eric Hsu knows his ****, but he's a hardcore nissan guy so of course he'd say that stuff out of his ***.

So, no one thinks the 2jzgte is overrated? I sure think it is, but there is some good reasons as to why it is.
