Really now ???please dont make assumptions when u dont know what you are talking about. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...=277036&page=2There are alot of experienced menbers here (not with the sc ecu's on a 1j though). How would you feel if he does that and the car catches on fire or something ? Vip Soarer the search feature will give you all the answers .Try it ,type in 1j sc 300 or 400 and see what will happen
You can use your stock ECU

Simple correction, Stock sc300 ecu doesn't work, need the 1jz ecu... The stock sc3 won't plug up.
Or you could also ask where I'd found that article and stated that it was wrong.
>>>How would you feel if he does that and the car catches on fire or something.
Although I'm new to the Lexus/Toyota world, prev Honda specialist/UTI Graduate we all know this won't happen, sorry that was
dumb. If it plugged up then yes, maybe.
This is what I'd read:
"You COULD get away with the stock exhaust, but you'd loose a TON of power. Maybe do the swap, then save a bucks for new piping? Just an idea... and the stock SC300 ECU will work fine, as long as you have a piggyback (S-AFC II). Saw an aqaintence (sp?) this past week with a 93 SC300 5 speed with the 1JZ with a single turbo upgrade putting down 490wrhp with the STOCK ECU AND STOCK SC MANUAL TRANNY!"

spend some time searching this forum - club na-t and supra forums.
There is all the info in the world on the 1J swap. No need to make assumptions or ask quesitons thats can be answered with a few mins of research.

again:You can use your stock ECU, I also heard <<< Meaning I'd seen it from doing research from other websites. There are easier ways of correcting someone. After this past weekend I'd found out for myself the stock ECU doesn't work, the plugs are different, I found it out trying my stock ECU.

While its possible in theory, it would require a good bit of wiring knowledge... more than you can just pick up from reading a book. Its outside the scope of the basic DIYer for sure.
