I've regularly heard they can take in the 700hp range.

I still haven't seen a soarer r154, just a bunch of MK3 versions. Where are you guys getting them, and how much are you spending?

ditto. some Aussie's view this tranny to be on par with the V160 in terms of durability.

Soarer R154's are very rare, I got one after harassing the guy for like 2 months lol

What is a V160? Is that a 5 Speed too that will work with a 2JZ in an SC300?

The v160 is the toyota getrag 6speed from the MKIV TT supra, and the 161 is the same, just from a later years with slightly different ratios.

So do you need the soarer r154 or the bellhousing from the soarer r154 to make the r154 fit on the sc's?

The Supra R154 can be made to work with modification. There are threads on this very forum that outline the details. It is not easy to do, but it has definitely been done.

The Soarer R154 looks identical to the Supra R154 except for the tail end. The bellhousing will work as long as both are JZ bellhousings (R154's were attached to the M engine as well).

The V160 is the holy grail of Toyota manuals. It has a sixth gear, handles upwards of 1000hp, shifts uncommonly smooth given the durability, and costs a pretty penny to acquire one. Getting one for under $3k is an absolute steal.
