Default W58 "whine"?

I've searched a few threads on this forum and some others, but has anyone ever figured out WHAT it is that makes some of these W58's "whine" from a dead stop when releasing the clutch? I know a few others had the same problem, but I never saw anyone who figured it out. It's pretty annoying, and it's forcing me to wanna shell out the cheese for a Getrag. Any ideas?

I've never had any problem like this with my w58. Did the whine appear after useage or was it always there?

Mine whines in every gear. When I bought the car, the guy had used synthetic fluid. Im going to switch it to petrol, and see if that helps.

It's only when you release the clutch. I pulled the tranny, replaced the T.O. bearing, put some Royal Purple in it, but no such luck. I've read other forums where people talk about it, but have never heard anyone come up with a cause or remedy.

Mine makes a whine like most cars do going in reverse *uh-oh...* except much quieter. It does it in all gears.
