If the tires are off the ground it probably doesn't matter--

An old hot-rodders trick for seized rings is to pour a little bit of brake fluid down on each cylinder-- I bought a jspec motor and when we tested comp it was low like 140 on a few cylinders-- I called the guy I bought it from and he said to pour a few oz into each plug hole and let it sit for 20min --

Voila -- 220 psi across all 4 -- That motor ran perfect for another 50k miles before I sold the car-- still runs great too--

It should help keep the cylinders and rings lubed-- I don't see why pouring a few oz of motor oil or lucas on top of each cylinder wouldn't help for the same thing either though--

Be well while overseas-- You're an F'in man if there are any real one's left--

I still wish the Iraqi people would stand up for their own damm selves and fight their own war-- We've (you guys) have done enough-- I love the idea of liberating oppressed people-- I just wish they would grow some of their own ***** and quit using all of ours -- It's about time we let them start standing on their own, but they have to start stepping up to the plate and fighting for what they've got--

Put really thick assembly lube at my work theres a old k20 back thats been sitting for 2 years and no rust in the cylinders. and for cleaning. gas works really good. your not supposed to do that but gas works better than anything expecially on old dirty motors

Yea marvel is the ish. but i dono about for like long time lubrication because its really thin like when you use it before an oil change it thins out your oil and if the car is sitting for a while i dont think it will stck to the walls at all. or to anything for that matter. but on the plus side it smells great ahaha

It should stick to the rings and keep them lubed-- but honestly--

This is a Toyota motor, I'd just pour in a little bit of motor oil on each cylinder and turn it over a few times -- though you probably don't even need that--

If it sits up for a while, you can always just pour a little brake fluid down on each cylinder (doesn't take much-- like 3 oz. each cyl) and your compression will come up like majick -- then just drain your oil and change it-- perfecto --

ok here ya go, drain all oil from your car, drain the gas tank and lines, put car on jackstands, go to a local u haul or moving supply place and get a large plastic couch cover or pallet cover wrap up the engine spray some pb blaster into the cylinders and on the motor itself, wrap it up call it a day.

thanks for your service to our country. if you need someone to help you get the car ready let me know i will drive to you and help. pm me if need be.

Brake fluid eh? I'll give that a shot. I went to the local Auto store and got 4 jack stands to put the car up. I'm pretty excited to tear into it when I get back. And do you mean drain the oil from my Lexus motor too? I was thinking of freshly changing the oil, driving it for 1K or so then letting it sit. When I get back I can spin the crank manually to get some lube in there. Is that a good idea? I honestly plan on starting on the GTE as soon as I get back, so the condition of the GE won't matter too much.

I don't think draining the oil will be necessary-- just add a little on top of the cylinder-- Honestly -- lucas would probably be the most likely to stay put over the whole time you're gone ****ing up dip****s with .223 ammo--

-- Have fun and be safe --

Man those sunbichiz are ****en stupid-

I would think adding a small amt of oil would work....I had not driven mine for two weeks and experienced noise from one of the pulleys for a few days...it's since gone away...so you might experience this when you get back....

Yuma,

Thank you for your service.

I've been updating the FAQ links for winter storage that I use for annoucements when winter rolls around... yours is just a bit more extended (these are not all specifically for SC but may have some good ideas buried in them).

I had always heard that you fill the entire engine with oil... all the way to the top. That way it is properly lubricated and rust free when you get it back.

I think just adding some lucas and cranking the motor over 10 times will coat the walls well enough--
