Just curious but has anyone ever made a tranny swap for a SC400 to manual 6-speed? If you have what do you think about it?

I havent done it yet but very soon. I can tell you that this is a very costly swap. You can spend 4-7K doing it so keep that in mind. I hope to get mine done before summer is over so I will have some first hand knowlege very soon.

swapping the tranny on the 1UZ is approximately as expensive as a 2JZ w/V160 engine set. You have to really like your V8 to do this (some of us do).

keep in mind, you will need a custom driveshaft and a rear end swap. With 3.91 gearing, you would be shifting more than you would be driving.

Nevertheless, it is out there.
