Default Unichip and wideband

LexAnt,

I didn't think you were bashing them at all. In fact, I thought you were being most understanding and generious. You deserved better service. I only wanted you to get the other 8 horse and clean up the experience. Good luck with your advanture.

The "wideband" doesn affect the Unichip one way or the other. The street legal Unichip operates in the "full throttle" area only where the ECU is in "OPEN LOOP" operation and there is no influence by the O2 sensor. I think Unichip builds a stand alone replacement for your ECU that takes a wideband input but it is a race only application. I think you have to go with a Piggy-Back chip to stay legal and from what I have heard the Unichip gives the best HP gain.

95 and up model year doesn't matter. The chip works with anything with an ECU. My first C chip came off of a 2004 Toy V8 Tundra with a SUPERCHARGER for Gods sake. The owner was delighted with the performance of the Unichip and bragged about the power gain. I don't think I would be looking for more power in a pick-up after supercharging a V8 but that is why we have horseraces. He had sold the truck and was recovering his investment is how I got his chip. The harness and switches and modules were awsome in their complexity. Unichip even had switches to activate different profiles if the guy had his water injection on plus other operation parameter selectors. Jack even pulled one of the connectors apart for me and disclosed circuitry and a printed circuit card. Said there were more modules "imbedded" in the harness. What an interesting visit I had with really nice and informative people.

Take care Friend and let us know how the mods you are doing work out.

yea, the wideband doesn't affect any piggyback. I have it so i can tune the car via SAFC2 on my own. Also, it'll be helpful when i get the MAP2 except I need to find a way to tune the timing now...

Default Self doubt

Excess,

If you have to ask....you probably do.

Along those lines of reasoning:
A guy told me that one out of four men in the USA are gay. This means that if you join a group of three guys that you know are not gay.....you must be. It is simple math amigo.

I enjoyed your post. Thanks for the laugh.

JohnEd,

I don't know if you are still on these forums, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading your post. Although this is coming up to 3 years old, those doing the whining are the ones who get a headache when forced to read more than 4 sentences. That and no pictures to look at usually impedes them making it into the 2nd paragraph.
