Default help please read!! 1jz swap!!

well i just bought a 1jz from suns auto here in houston. this engine looks fine and all, but heres a problem im dealing with. the guy that runs the shop doesnt know if the engine is from a supra or a soarer and the motor was dirt cheap, good compression and no plays with the turbos, so i coudlnt miss this deal. the clips to the ECU on the 1jz is gray, and the plugs looks like a triangles. it looks nothing like the one i have on my sc300, could it be a soarer harness or a supra harness? my other question is the motor came with the auto tranny. the ecu is A/T would that cause a problem? i have a W58. would the w58 bolt up to the 1jz? and about the flywheel and the clutch can i use the 2jz flywheel and clutch for the 1jz?

thanks for the help
-stan

those questions have been answered before.

use the 2j flywheel and buy an sc300 clutch kit and the w58 bolts on. the a/t ecu works as well. so are you saying you might have a soarer harness and a supra ecu? or do the plugs don't fit into the ecu? everything should plug in.

If the ecu plugs on the harness have 2 rows of pins going across its not a soarer harness and likely a supra harness...
example of one connector
- - - - - -
- - - - -

If the ecu plugs on the harness have 4 rows of pins going across its a soarer harness

example:
- - - - -
- - - -
- - - - -
- - - - -

i tried... hope you get what i meant by that...

also-
supra= front sump oil pan, hydrofan set-up
soarer= rear sump oil pan, regular clutch type fan

The Supra is a midsump just like the Soarer. The Chaser is a frontsump IIRC. I'm def sure on the Supra though.
