I have a question, so you cut the green and blk/red wire, then you solder them together. What do you do with what's left of the green and blk/red wire that is still attach to the ECU clip? Do you just tape them up with everything or what?

Can't we just buy a new fuel pump instead of doing this, or would that not fix the issue? Thanks

Performed this mod on my stock SC400 before I performed the 1JZ swap - Worked Great No problems (even though the car was fine)

***Now,after the 1J swap - The pump for some reason Runs even after I've turned the key off.Same with my SAFC.Still Power going to both of those items.I have to disco the Neg Terminal to turn it all off...and then it goes back like the car was never cranked.

What would cause that? Meaning there must be a relay or something involved causing the Pump and SAFC to stay on after the key is off & out.

My issue? Works like normal but power still somehow keeping the pump running and safc on after the key is removed.I even tried unplugging the duel pump ecu and it still stays on.it weird.didn't do this the day before...and I didn't touch anything.
I don't have my interior back together yet to see if the radio will stay on or climate stuff so can't confirm "everything" stays on.gonna check se stuff nut anyone have any ideas would be great.

Haha my friend i think we have the same issue, it hydro locked my 2JZ last month a couple of time.
when i pulled my motor out my crank was f$#@ed i thought it was a crankwalk but now it started to do it again .I've replaced the block but it started doing the same BS again.
I will undo it when i get home and see what happen , i've never had this issue with my SC300 with 2JZ.
It just fills my cylinders with gas,I will let you know what happen.

Well mine ended up being a grounding issue. As soon as I ran another ground from the battery to the body of the car it works like it should now. It was backfeeding through a ground somewhere.
Before I did the swap it worked fine with the v8. Weird.

Wow, that is some interesting stuff. Good info regarding the ground MrFairlady. That is something I will keep in mind when/if I do the 12v mod.

Just out of curiosity, did you ever check the main EFI relay to see if it was energized?

Well, I did this mod and the car would start and run without the ECU plugged in which kinda makes sense. You are in effect bypassing the fuel pump ECU, so it really shouldn't need to be plugged in as far as I can tell.
