is my MAF bad?

is my MAF bad?
sucked water up intake, changed all the fluids and car (sc400) originally idled just fine. Now it constantly searches for a RPM between 1200-2000rpm.
What would cause this? The check engine light is not on. I unplugged the intake tubing and let the engine run with the MAF sensor hooked up, but not actually in the intake. The car idled better, at least it was steady, although it did idle at about 1800, plugged the MAF back inline and it goes back to searching.
What should i do?
replace the MAF, try to clean it? what?
Is there a wa i can use a multimeter to check this thing?

before you go replacing it, at least clean it. take it out and give it some "MAF Cleaner" (like $5) or some Brake Cleaner if you have it lying around. Both are extremely volatile sprays that evaporate about as fast as you can spray them.
I am not the hydrolocking expert; but, when it comes to replacing the MAF...clean it first. These things rarely ever fail in our cars.

I need to clean it also... idle drops after turn off the AC and sometimes engine stopped.

I had the same problem, low idle, engine stalled once. I took it off and cleaned it out, so far so good.

I talked to a lexus tech today, Our MAF sensors are different from other cars, and that cleaner is bad for it. I would just use maybe those air duster cans instead. This makes me also not want to buy a K&N filter
