hi guys, i am currently contemplating on getting a sc300 and doing a 1jz drop in. what would be the idea engine for this? how reliable is this? what kind of power does it make? i want to stay in a automatic. any and all help would be very much appreciated.

When you search for something like 1JZ that only has three letters in the word, use a wild card character, or asterisk. Search the performance for "1JZ* turbo", "1JZ* swap", etc...I promise you that your results will be fruitful.
The 1JZ is rather reliable. The fuel economy is good. The performance is amazing for a 2.5L. It can achieve 400whp without much creativity being required. It can handle huge numbers, but you begin to loose streetability over ~500whp as the power band becomes thin.
