Default Bobbing Shifter... is this normal?

I just noticed something this past week regarding the shifter on my 92 SC400. As I am driving down the road or on the freeway, its seems to be bobbing (if that's the correct word to use). What I mean is that the shifter handle is moving back and forth rythimatically.

Now I am not sure if this was going on before, or if the situation just appeared after I installed the new wheels and tires, or is this a normal thing that happens. I was running stocks before, but jumped into 18's.

I figure if its not a normal thing or not a usual affect of having aftermarket wheels and tires, then it could be my tires arent properly balanced or something along those lines. But before I have that checked out and pay for such, I just want to confirm if this is or is not a normal behavior pattern on these cars.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone!!!

Mine also has a lot of play, it wiggles so much side to side that it feels like a shifter from a manual that is in neutral.

Vibration from the trans. Most likely, the transmission mount is toast. Replace that and you're good to go!

You can do a quick check, jack up the rear end of the car, both wheels off the ground. Lay under the car with a huge Flathead screwdriver or pry-bar. There is a little area between the mount/trans and cross member. Using the screw drive/pry-bar, wedging the blade in that spot, move the trans up and down. You'll be able to see if the rubber is broke or separated from the plate.
Mine was really bouncy, but still together...I'm at 60k, so you have a reference to go from as far as longevity

Off we go to the Engine/Trans section.

My shifter doesnt vibrate while driving its just really lose. I know my tranny mount is good because i checked it yesterday and the rubber was still intact without any cracks. Could it just be a lose bolt somewhere that i have to tighten?
